September 2024 Newsletter

This summer, 187 volunteers turned out for us and donated almost 8,000 hours. We have had the pleasure of working with a robust base of volunteers this summer: regularly returning volunteers, volunteers from previous summers, and new faces!

We are engaging volunteers more than ever in their skill-sets outside of direct service, such as administrative work. We also wrapped up two more productive sessions with the interns of our Youth Leadership Development Program. Through direct service and collaborative projects, these youth leaders built upon their communication skills and shared their knowledge with us.

Our volunteers,
and how you can help

Don't just take our word - hear from our Youth Leadership Development Program interns!

"Great opportunity to do service while learning about nonprofits and food insecurity."

"YLDP has been an honor overall to be part of. It has been both challenging yet rewarding and I do feel that I grew a lot within these 3 weeks. Thank you Feast of Justice for the awesome program."
As school starts back up every September, volunteerism falls by 40%. Our team has been energetically pouring efforts into targeted volunteer recruitment as we enter into the fall, and we need your help.

We invite you to talk to your friends, community members, colleagues, and loved ones about volunteering with Feast of Justice. You are volunteering by recruiting supporters and advocating for us. Help us build our operational capacity by spreading the word about our volunteer opportunities!

Save the Date

Be on the look-out for special fun activities that volunteers can participate in this fall!

  • On Sundays November 17 and 24, we are hosting special volunteer opportunities to help to distribute more food during the holiday season.

  • Pantry Express Pickup packing on Thursday nights is a chill, low-stress way to volunteer yourself or your group! Volunteers pack boxes of non-perishable food that will be distributed to guests through our Pantry Express Pickup food program. View the flyer below, or click to download and share with your community.

To learn about these activities and more, contact our Volunteer Engagement Manager, Jayden, by emailing staff_mgr@feastofjustice.org or calling 215-268-3510 ext. 2.
